I want to see gambling advertising in football end completely.
What has happened in England is that football clubs have recognised that gambling advertising is harmful. Therefore they should be calling a halt to it altogether. Children watch football in grounds and on TV. This has the effect of normalising gambling.
I want to see action from football clubs in Scotland to stop the exposure children get to gambling, just by following their team. Some football clubs have no involvement with gambling already, such as Partick Thistle, so it is clearly do-able.
The UK government reforms on gambling are long overdue and are now imminent. This legislation has to have teeth and recognise that in a world of digital gambling huge amounts of money can be lost in a matter of minutes.
Things have to change. Too many lives are being ruined.
