This morning I got to visit the new apprentices in Ferguson’s Shipyard as part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week 2016. Ferguson have just taken on apprentice engineers and fabricators that are working hard to qualify in Inverclyde. I met with the apprentices and representatives from the West College and the SDS.
I spoke to Louise who is Ferguson’s only female trainee at the moment. She is loving every moment of the course but wants to encourage more girls to apply for these fantastic opportunities.
As part of Scottish Apprenticeship Week Ferguson Marine Engineering Limited has announced they are set to take on 150 new apprentices. These 150 new apprentices will form part of the overall growth strategy of the Inverclyde-based company which is renowned for its shipbuilding and for delivering engineering services across a range of industry sectors.
If you are interested in applying for the new apprentices at Ferguson keep an eye out on their website for updates.
